Saturday in The Yard with Berry Treats

There is something to love about every single day, but how can you not love Saturdays close to the most???

We didn't go to any festivals or parties today. It's been a stressful week, and we capped it off with a low key day of relaxation, lots of loving and just hanging out together.

We watched some mindless tv while... and this is a little embarassing... making a sandwich out of the Mom. Yep, that's right. I was the big bun up front with the Mom hugged up against my back and then little Reufus couldn't help but join in, and he laid behind her with his head resting on her side! It was a Kodak moment for sure, and I'm sorry that there was noone around to snap that shot!

But speaking of cameras, this afternoon we had a BLEULANDER photo shoot!

Every model has his camera shy moments. Few have soft, photogenic furs as gorgeous as mine...! Just saying.
My gaze off into the distance pose...

Humility.
Excitement and Anticipation.
Yes.
Sometimes Excitement and Anticipation
have the appearance of Sad and Somber!
*Please note that a handful of Nutro Natural Choice Crunchy Treats with Real Berries were yummarily sacrificed in the execution of this photo shoot!

Yep, it was a nice day of Normalcy and Calm. The Mom did leave a couple of times to see friends... and I gave her the "How could you leave me?" look each time...
Pretty good, eh??? And it must have been effective, because she didn't stay gone long!

As we begin to close out this Saturday night, we took the camera outside one last time... Where's the Bleu? Look close and you'll see me there!
We're inside, preparing to roll back the clocks, and I'm taking pause to reflect...

Life with Reufus has been really difficult. At times, he's been pretty unlovable.  He's been rowdy, destructive, boisterous, wild and uncontrollable... I've watched the Mom work hours on end, tirelessy and with consistent correction.

And it's kinda like I hate to jinx the progress... but I'm very excited and want you to know that we've made some!
Shhhhhh, but... Little Reufus has learned to chill a little. He's learned to settle on command. Now, he still has to be either right next to the Mom or right next to the me... or [preferably in his perfect world] both... but we are grateful for the chill moments!!!
It's a big comfort to know Your Loved Ones have your back!
Thanks to Yeu and Reufus for having mine!
Go Team Bleu!

Friday Night Wrights: Kitty Kat Edition

Happy Friday!

It was a beautiful day with crisp cool airs and bright sunshine! The best part was having the Mom come home early from the factory. Besides her doorman skills and the fact that she's a sucker to berry treat a boy with a sweet face... she's also quite nice to nap and watch the judge shows with...!

And we did all of those wonderful things and more... some with and some without little Reufus. Please remember: All of the higher education, academic type, training people who know a lot about Reufus will tell you that there is NO need to feel GUILTY about treating us differently. In fact, it is HEALTHY.

And I like that I'm the Sweet and Well Behaved Boy, because it pays RICH! And Teuday was a Treasure!

Yes, yes... Today was the perfect day to nibble an acorn... to tear up a teeny tiny stick... to shake a leaf...
and to explore!
Hmmm... What's back here?
This was one of the Luke's favorite hideouts. I like the view; the smells are quite interesting...
And to answer the Mom's question...
I'm right HERE!
sheesh...

And now it's that special time...
Miss Khyra's FrEYEday SkEYEday!

So pretty and BLEU!!!
Wait a minute...

What O What do I see???
What's that in the fork of the tree???
Ah Oh.
I was a witness to the crime chase. The responsible party was immediately arrested and detained indefinitely, or at least until the fire department gets here.

The perp suspect was given his evening square and confined somewhat plush quarters due to the extenuating circumstances of his involvement. I'm no attorney, but here's his defense in a pecan shell:
  1. The victim was trespassing on private, highly trafficked and well patrolled property in the middle of the afternoon... leading us all to wonder if said victim is more kitten than kat.
  2. Defendent approached in a friendly manner.
  3. Victim ran, and Defendent followed.
  4. It was obvious that the Defendent really didn't want to KATch the Victim. Seriously. Very obvious!
  5. And I present Exhibit R...
The Picture of Innocence
Please note that NO KITTY KAT was harmed in today's adventure. Said KITY KAT looked forelorned for about an hour but then extricated himself out of his predicament without the aid of the fire department.

And on a personal note,
Thank you for your outpouring of Support.
With Yeu by my side, I'm surely stronger!
With Yeu behind me, I'll never fall backward.
With Yeu around me, I feel LOVE.

Saturday's Some of This and That

Hopped up on The Big Bed tonight!Sure did!

Haven't been up here in months and months...
but I'm feeling good and...
It called to me! It did! Big Bed said..."Big Boy Bleu, hop up on me...
and show the little squirt who owns me!"

I did, and it was "fabulous"!!! I chewed my bone. I chewed my antler. And I snuggled with my the Mom. And Reufus was charged with learning some lessons. Unfortunately, his lesson has sprung an apple sized swelling from the top of the Mom's foot... and I really hope she can walk tomorrow, but I digress...

Never mind the Reufus mangled blinds beyond, this was a beautiful day in Houston, Texas. Lows last night were in the 50s and the highs today were in the 80s. And we were eager to enjoy out of doors!
Bad news is that this drought has done a number on our yard, landscaping
and once beautiful St Augustine grasses.
And the good news is that I am still stunningly handsome!
We also still have tons of rotten pecans, served up at the Backyard Buffet...
And here I am, grimacing, as I insist on eating one!
And that reminds me of a funny story! You see, earlier this afternoon... I came in from outside and wouldn't lay down. The mom thought I was thirsty, so she led me to the kitchen and filled my water bowl... but I wouldn't drink. She kissed me and hugged me, as she thought I looked funny, looked strange... and she was worried. I wouldn't take a treat, not at all. Her thoughts were that the evil disease was at work, and she began trying to figure out how to bring me out of it...

She did this and that, and all the while... I would not lay down. I wouldn't settle. I just looked at her with a strange expression on my face. And then, the phone rang... and as she began to talk, I couldn't hold it any longer...
I spit out a very slobbery rotten pecan!!!
[She pops them out of Reuf's mouth every time he comes in the door,
and I fully expected her to pop it out of mine twenty minutes sooner!]

I wrote about my Texas Sage a few days ago, and here's a closer look...
Pretty Purple is a favorite color,
because it reminds me of the gorgous
Miss Khyra!
I had worried that "the storm"... read: darkness, lighting, thunder and 15 drops of rain... would beat the pretty petals off the shrub. We did lose some blooms, would happily have lost them all for a healthy amount of precipitation... but we're also happy that the sage is still pretty!
I need to find a comparison photo,
but we are in mourning over the loss of our huge
and formerly stunningly gorgeous hot pink azalea.
She is now TOAST.
Reufus has never lived here when we had lush grasses and landscaping...
but he's been here to witness dramatic losses.
I'm sparing you the worst, because the front "forty" is completely dead.
It's not the same yard. And it will need to be completely re-sodded and re-landscaped...
but not until the drought and the water restrictions are over.

That's not to say that all parts of the yard are dead.
That little bit in the shadow of the house or fence... is hearty and thriving.
Did the Mom say "Berry Treats"???
Sure she did! And we come running!!!
Today was a beautiful day...
Beautiful, clear BLEU skies.
And the Mom definitely had to play
The Berry Treat Card...
to draw us in-of-doors!!
Please to overlook the holes in the comforter.
It drives the Mom crazy, but until we can control the Reuf 24x7...
There is little sense in replacing it.
That's a little sad, but we hope it won't be forever...
And now I close by asking for your continued prayers, well wishes and healing thoughts for my good friend, Kodiak of The Thundering Herd. Handsome Boy is receiving the very best of care, and we continue to be hopeful for a full and speedy recovery!!!

And if you've got a prayer or so left over, I would appreciate a mention. I've had a two week treatment holiday, but will be returning for a treatment this Tuesday... followed by a treatment at home next week.
I'm fighting this with everything I have, but I really need and appreciate your help!
There's no cure, but we would treasure the word...

REMISSION!
Thank you again for being a part of Team Bleu and endorsing The Love Protocol. Your well wishes, wellness checks and support bolster the Mom and make every day a lot easier!
